BlueNav is making waves in the boating industry with it’s Virtual Anchor and new Hybrid Software Pack

A new boating experience combining simplicity, enjoyment, and sustainability, available starting January 2025.

Arcachon, 18th November 2024 — BlueNav, a leader in marine hybrid technology, announces the upcoming availability of its next-generation solution for boats, featuring the highly anticipated Virtual Anchor function. Available starting January 2025, this all-in-one solution also includes an advanced autopilot and speed regulator, offering boaters a new experience that combines pleasure, simplicity, and greater environmental responsibility.

BlueNav Virtual Anchor: completely rethinking the navigation experience

BlueNav’s hybrid solution integrates several technologies that make boating and maneuvers simpler and more eco-friendly. It now includes the Virtual Anchor, which automatically maintains the boat’s position without the need to deploy a physical anchor.

Using GPS and the NMEA2000 compass, the virtual anchor continuously adjusts the boat’s position according to environmental conditions (currents, wind, etc.), ensuring that the position is held while protecting the seabed and eliminating the need for physical mooring.

An advanced autopilot and speed regulator for smarter navigation

In addition to the Virtual Anchor, BlueNav includes a next-generation autopilot that allows for precise navigation along a pre-programmed route, freeing the boater from constantly managing the helm. The speed regulator (for maintaining course and waypoint tracking) optimizes energy management and fuel consumption, ensuring more economical and environmentally friendly navigation, especially in the context of hybridization. The autopilot is compatible with chart plotters from major manufacturers (Garmin, Raymarine, Simrad, B&G, Lowrance, and Furuno). Simply set a waypoint or route to activate it. The autopilot also compensates for drift caused by wind and currents, optimizing electrical consumption for a more economical and environmentally friendly navigation experience.

A hybrid solution for eco-friendly boating

BlueNav’s solution supports sustainability by incorporating hybrid technology. By adding electric motors to a boat with combustion engines, users reduce fuel consumption and harmful emissions leading to a better carbon footprint. Boating enthusiasts can enjoy a more sustainable navigation experience without sacrificing performance.
