Smart Navigation

The BlueNav Software is installed as an application on your MFD screen. In addition to the usual information and features, it provides additional functionality that will enhance your browsing experience.

Advanced navigation features improve both user experience and movement accuracy. The solution includes Autopilot, Docking and Positioning features such as Virtual Anchor and DPS.

By connecting our control and communication unit to your NMEA 2000 network, you will also be able to view your navigation information (boat speed, battery status, remaining range, thrust angle, kW power of each engine) in one place.

Hardware

The engines of BlueNav Smart Hybrid Boating Solution offer clean and quiet propulsion, minimizing environmental impact while improving on-board comfort. The retractable BlueSpin motors (BlueSpin Outboard and Inhull) allow the boater to retract the turbine with no drag impact when navigating in combustion mode. The inclusion of a powerful bow thruster allows for precise and effortless maneuvering, even in tight spaces.

Finally, we are the sole developers of Whale Design blades, exclusive to RDT engines, designed to optimize energy consumption and improve propulsion performance, thus offering a superior navigation experience. Improved performance thanks to biomimetic whale fins.

While nature follows a random bias in its evolution, humans can imitate designs that have proven to be more efficient and quieter, even if they sometimes defy traditional engineering theories.

Using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), the BlueNav teams have demonstrated that the humps on cetacean flippers and the striations on their bellies consequently reduce drag and allow better control of the hydrodynamic flow.
