BlueNav announces the launch of its Virtual Anchor Packs 8 and 11, a new offering designed to make its position-holding technology more accessible to both leisure boaters and professionals.
These complete electric packs now enable boats to maintain their position at the click of a button, without dropping anchor, in a silent, precise and seabed-friendly way.
An innovation addressing a challenging market need
Today, existing position-holding solutions have clear limitations. Trolling motors are limited to small boats and calm conditions, while thermal dynamic positioning systems (DPS) remain costly, noisy and fuel-dependent.
Between these two options, boats from 7 to 22 meters have, until now, lacked a truly suitable electric solution for maintaining position over several hours. With its Virtual Anchor Packs, BlueNav introduces a new answer to this need, offering a precise, silent and ready-to-install electric positioning solution, enabling up to 8 hours of Virtual Anchor operation.
All-in-one packs dedicated to Virtual Anchor
Designed for plug-and-play installation and intuitive use, the Virtual Anchor Packs include everything required to operate BlueNav’s technology:
- a BlueNav 8 kW or 11 kW electric outboard motor
- a 3D Joystick for intuitive control
- IonBase batteries (1 × 3.4 kWh or 2 × 3.4 kWh)
- all power electronics and BlueNav Smart Navigation solutions
The system uses electric propulsion to automatically compensate for wind and current, ensuring stable positioning without physical anchoring.

Launch at Nice Boating Tomorrow
The Virtual Anchor Packs will be unveiled for the first time at Nice Boating Tomorrow, from March 19 to 22, on the BlueNav stand F-04.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover and test the BlackPearl 7 x BlueNav, developed in collaboration with the French shipyard AtlantiCraft. This demo boat offers a hands-on experience of Virtual Anchor capabilities and BlueNav’s smart navigation technologies, and will be available for purchase directly at the show.
