BlueNav announces the launch of BlueNav Control, a new solution that brings its Smart Navigation features to boats already equipped with third-party electric propulsion.
Smart Navigation beyond BlueNav motors
Until now, BlueNav Smart Navigation features have been integrated with its own electric propulsion systems. With BlueNav Control, BlueNav now makes its technology available for integration with existing electric propulsion systems.
The solution is built around a dedicated control unit and Precision+ GPS for optimal positioning accuracy, complemented by an optional joystick. It integrates the BlueNav Smart Navigation Pack, providing access to several advanced features:
Autopilot: Heading Hold, Course Hold, Waypoint Following and Cruise Control
Docking: Docking 360°
Positioning: Virtual Anchor and Drift Lock
BlueNav Control is available from €13,229 excl. VAT.
BlueNav Control thus brings new control, manoeuvring and position-holding capabilities to boats equipped with compatible electric propulsion systems.
Three ways to take control
BlueNav Control offers three complementary functions to simplify and enhance anchoring.
Virtual Anchor: maintain position without anchoring
For a short stop, a break in a cove, or in an area where anchoring is regulated or prohibited, BlueNav Control keeps the boat precisely in position without deploying the physical anchor or impacting the seabed.
Smart Anchoring: the physical anchor under supervision
The BlueNav Virtual Anchor provides genuine assistance when anchoring: it helps position the boat, limits movement and facilitates deployment of the physical anchor. Once deployed, BlueNav Control continuously monitors the boat’s position and, when drift is detected, the Virtual Anchor automatically intervenes to correct it. The physical anchor remains the primary holding system, while the Virtual Anchor provides additional position monitoring and correction.
Smart Control: intuitive control at your fingertips
Smart Navigation features and the joystick enable intuitive control, precise maneuvering and enhanced navigation assistance.
A new step for BlueNav
With BlueNav Control, BlueNav extends its Smart Navigation expertise beyond its own propulsion systems, opening the way to new markets and new collaborations with boatbuilders, shipyards and equipment manufacturers.
This new approach is already taking shape through a collaboration with Windelo to develop BlueNav Control for its catamarans. This partnership will enable BlueNav to adapt the solution to the specific requirements of these configurations and further expand access to Smart Navigation.
“With BlueNav Control, we want to make BlueNav technologies accessible to a greater number of boats, enabling more boaters to benefit from a more intuitive, more controlled and above all more respectful way of navigating. By extending Smart Navigation to existing electric propulsion systems, we are giving more boaters the opportunity to enjoy exceptional places without degrading them.”
