Today we’re celebrating the fact that our team is growing! While 2024 is far from over, we’re proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re taking the time to tell you all about it. Since the beginning of the year, we’ve attended no fewer than 12 trade shows, and above all we’ve welcomed a host of new talents to our team, reaching 47 employees to date!
A strong, high-impact mission
Our vision and mission are often factors of attraction for our recruits. Saving the oceans, preserving ecosystems through the adoption of electric motors for boats by sailors…these are themes and issues that are topical for everyone. In fact, it’s our ambition at BlueNav to ensure that our employees find meaning in their day-to-day work.
Our team is growing for the best
Who better to talk about our employees than our employees themselves?
Margot Rebours, naval hydrodynamics engineer
What is your job at BlueNav?
I’m a naval hydrodynamics engineer. My mission is to design new biomimetic blades (CAD), model the water flow around them and predict their hydrodynamic performance (CFD). Another important part of my work involves thinking about, setting up and carrying out experimental tests in a tank or on a test boat.
Why did you choose us?
I chose to get involved professionally with BlueNav because it was my dream to work in the nautical or naval sector. I like the idea of working for the ecological transition. It fits in completely with my personal convictions.
Are you an ocean lover?
Of course I’m an ocean lover! I’ve been sailing since I was a kid in the “Bassin of Arcachon”. I can’t get enough of the freedom this discipline gives me. The ambient calm and the “dance” of the boats on the waves are a real source of relaxation and well-being.
Denis Real, R&D Project Manager
What is your job at BlueNav?
I joined Bluenav as an R&D Project Manager. My role is to organize the various R&D projects, define priorities and ensure global reporting. I’m also helping to define our product roadmap.
Why did you choose us?
Bluenav is a company at the cutting edge of technology, offering unique motorization hybridization solutions. My past experience, my concern for reducing carbon footprints, and my attraction to the boating industry naturally convinced me to join Bluenav!
Are you an ocean lover?
I practiced windsurfing and bodyboarding as a teenager, and have been sailing ever since, in particular as a crew member on sailboats. For the past 18 months, I’m a passionate Wingfoiler, and I never miss an opportunity to go Wingfoiling or surfing. I just love the sea!
Lucas Bonafuente, After-sales Technician
What is your job at BlueNav?
I’ve just joined BlueNav as a technician in the after-sales department. In this role, I strive to provide high quality technical support to customers, handling inquiries, resolving technical issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the services offered by the company.
Why did you choose us?
I chose to join the BlueNav adventure for several reasons. Firstly, the technical dimension of the project and the challenges to be met attracted my attention. Secondly, the idea of being part of a company that works to preserve marine life while offering non-binding solutions to our customers appealed to me. Finally, having always lived by the sea, I wanted to work in the nautical sector. My sailing experience, enriched by family members who are fishermen and my mother who works in an ocean racing stable, reinforced my desire to go down this path.
Are you an ocean lover?
Having always lived by the sea, I’ve had the opportunity to immerse myself in a wide range of nautical activities, including surfing, sailing and diving. This passion for the sea and its sports naturally led me to want to join a company like this, where I can combine my love of boating with my professional expertise. Joining BlueNav allows me to work in a sector I’m passionate about, while contributing to innovative projects that respect the marine environment.
Nicolas Potet, Quality Technician
What is your job at BlueNav?
I’m a Quality Technician. This job has several goals. I have to identify the most significants defects of in-coming parts and support our suppliers to enhance the quality of their products. I also have to see how to simplify and ensure that our internal process leads to expected quality engines. At last I check if we comply with standards that we claim for.
Why did you choose us?
BlueNav is an innovative firm, it proposes a solution to reduce our ecological impact in this transitional period and protect oceans and their wildlife.
Are you an ocean lover?
Since I was young, I spend my holidays by the ocean. I still go to the ocean whenever I can. I make diving, free and scuba. I always enjoy exploring this silent world where gravity disappears. Swimming among fishes and underwater landscapes still remain an out of time moment. We touch then the richness and fragility of the ocean.
